Excursion to the Blue Lake
Blue Lake - a system of three mountain lakes located at different heights. This place has a status of natural monument of regional significance and is located near of Yelizovo.
Excursion to the Blue Lake begins from the starting point at the ski resort "Mountain Frosty." However, we need to get there, so early in the morning we all meet together at the appointed place in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and go towards Elizovo to the foot of the mountain.
Before noon, we'll be there. Starting the track.
We have to go through 8 km of ecological forest path. You will see a real endemic of the Far East - Kamchatka stone birch. The birch got its name due to the incredible adaptability - it can grow on a rocky terrain, where other trees simply cannot settle down. In addition, birch has the body of an unusual shape - bizarrely curved.
A few hours later, we get to the base camp, set camp on a large meadow near the river Polovinka, have snack and explore the surrounding area. We will spend the night in tents.
Excursion to the Blue Lakes. Day 2
The next day, we get up early, have breakfast and begin our hiking. Today we will go the first 7 km through outlandish birch forest, it finishes soon, and then we go through the rocky terrain, where we have to go up the hill.
Soon we get to the destination. We can see a vast valley where three beautiful lakes are hidden. .
The lakes are situated at different heights, and are connected by a small mountain streams, which originates from the river Polovinka
Lake got its name from the fact that in the period of melting snow, part of the ice is under water. Because of that, the lake becomes bright blue color in reflected light.
We walk, take pictures, and breathe the clean mountain air.
Admiring the beauty, we begin the descent to the camp. The way back always seems twice shorter. Therefore, we don’t notice covered kilometers, and we are in the camp.
Relax, have dinner, pack our belongings and move to the foot of the mountain Frosty, where the car are waiting for us to take us to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
