Яркие лучи освещают величественные вершины изо льда, наполняя долины звонкой капелью и пением птиц, которые возвращаются в край после долгой зимы.
Sincere emotions of our guests thanks to their vacation in Kamchatka in spring.
View all reviewsThe off-season on the peninsula resembles a magical transformation: in April, winter still reigns supreme, with daytime temperatures ranging from 0°C to +5°C. By May, travelers are greeted by bright sunshine, with temperatures rising to +10°C. At this time, the contrasts are particularly picturesque: sparkling glaciers neighbor the first flowers, and rivers filled with meltwater share the landscape with fluffy snowdrifts.
The awakening period lasts only about two months, from late March to early June. During this short time, you will witness an amazing metamorphosis: from snow-covered slopes to blossoms, when nature demonstrates both its power and fragility.
The off-season on the peninsula is ideal for activities. You can head to the slopes of Kamchatka's volcanoes and then relax in natural thermal pools. For adrenaline junkies, snowmobile rides, skiing, and hiking are available. Spring is also a great time to observe the awakening of marine life off the coast.
Choose layered clothing: thermal underwear, a fleece top, a jacket with a membrane, and waterproof pants. Be sure to bring insulated boots with sturdy soles, a hat, and gloves—even at the end of the season, it can still be cold. For swimming in springs, bring a swimsuit and towel, and protect yourself from UV rays with sunglasses and high SPF sunscreen.
A plane ticket is the first step toward new adventures.
Booking trips during the off-season has its advantages. During this period, the price of tours to Kamchatka in spring is often lower than in the height of summer, and there are significantly more places and flights available.
The small number of tourists allows you to plan your trip in advance and calmly enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

From late April to June, nature amazes: against the backdrop of white volcanoes and skiers, lisianthus and wild garlic bloom, and the first greenery appears in the valleys. This is the best time for photographers and lovers of peace and quiet to enjoy the awakening of nature. During this period, many tour operators offer attractive prices for their programs, as there are few tourists before July.
Spring in Kamchatka offers unique opportunities for travel. Although long hiking trails and destinations such as Klyuchevskoy Park and Tolbachik are not yet accessible, the season is ideal for exploring the main attractions. In spring, you can see the valleys and majestic volcanoes of Kamchatka up close and admire the ocean coastline. It is also an excellent time for active and ski holidays.
What to expect:
Meet the volcanoes. Enjoy views of the Avachinsky and Koryaksky giants from the observation decks and the Vilyuchinskaya Sopka stratovolcano, and for real volcanic activity, head to the Mutnovsky fumarole fields or the Gorely craters.
Walks by the ocean. From Khalaktyrsky Beach and Mayachny Cape, you can enjoy picturesque views, while the rocky coves offer encounters with seals and bird colonies. You can get there by car or snowmobile.
Thermal springs. Warm up in the natural pools of Paratunka, Malkinskie, Zelenovskie, or Nalychevskie springs, where hot water creates oases amid snow-covered landscapes.
Observing nature. In May, you can already see sea lions, seals, and flocks of seabirds in the coastal waters of Avacha Bay, and traces of awakening bears on the coast.
Snow activities. Until mid-May, conditions remain ideal for downhill skiing, sledding, snowmobiling, and snowboarding. If you have experience, you can get your adrenaline rush on the wild slopes of volcanoes.
Ethnocultural immersion. In the settlements of Kainyran and Pimchakh, the Children of the North community, and the Chau-Chiv camp, you will learn about the traditions of indigenous peoples, be treated to local delicacies, try on national costumes, and learn ancient crafts.
Dog sledding. Traditional settlements actively promote dog sledding. Not only will you see friendly huskies and malamutes, but you will also be offered a ride in a dog sled. Interestingly, snow is not necessary for such trips—when the weather gets warmer, the sleds are replaced with carts on wheels.
Visiting the museum. A visit to the Regional Museum, with its extensive collection of ethnographic finds, will help you immerse yourself in the history of the Kamchatka Peninsula. And for those who are attracted by the challenges of nature, it is worth visiting the volcanology museum or the interactive “Volcanarium.”
Tour of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It takes a whole day to explore the center of the region. You can visit historic buildings in the heart of the city, stroll along the embankment, and climb up to the observation decks with panoramic views of Avachinskaya Bay.
Surfing. Surf schools operate year-round on Halaktyrsky Beach, where instructors teach beginners and amateurs.
Spring in Kamchatka greets visitors with frosty freshness and dazzling sunshine. Warming comes in April, when the thermometer rises above zero for the first time. However, even during this period, snowdrifts can reach up to one and a half meters in some places.
Snow melts faster in the forests, and by mid-April you can see flowering lizichitons — rare primroses that are protected by the state. The main feature of the local climate is its unpredictability. This is particularly evident in spring: sudden snowstorms and sharp cold snaps are considered normal even in May.
