Some tourists call this place as the small valley of geysers because of its active fumarole processes on such a small territory. However, this definition is, of course, not correct. There are no geysers but anyway if you would like to see active process of our Earth, then you need to take this trip.
Dachnye hot springs locates at the base of Mutnovsky volcano, near Mutnovskaya power station. Volcanic heat makes the hidden area warm, therefore boiling mineral rivers coming out of the ground, mudpot bubbling, as well as fumes rising up to the air.
Fumarole field locates in the small gorge looking like a bowl. You will be able to see that volcanic activity is not only at the center of the bowl but also at its steep slopes as gas outlets and running streams. Mineralization of water and steam is very high. Copper, radon, zinc, manganese, arsenic and many others chemical elements have been found during study of chemical composition of water. There you will be able to feel easily specific smell in the air.

We will meet with a group in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky city. Morning group gathering at about 8:00. We will be transferred to Mutnovsky plateau by the prepared off-road vehicle or Kamaz/Ural vehicle depending on number of participants in a group. It will take about 3-4 hours to reach our destination. The road rarely may be good in this area, and as experienced drivers say that “there is no roads in Kamchatka, there is only directions”.
We will make our first stop at the pass, from where there is a panoramic view of the valley and magnificent Viluchinsky volcano before us.
After reaching the Power station we will have snack and listen to safety instructions from our guide. It’s very important to follow safety rules everywhere because meeting bears is quite often there, and also boiling mudpot poses a danger for people. A hike around fumarole field takes about 1 hour and depends on tourists’ pace.
A trip around Dachnye hot springs and exploring diverse volcanic manifestations: a large mudpot, fumaroles and fuming fountains situated along the slope. The place in the riverbed is fenced so that it creates a place for bathing. It’s time for photo and video shoots.
It’s time to get back to our vehicle. Depending on the itinerary we will be transferred to the waterfall of Spokoyny river where we have lunch and drink tea. We will head back to the meeting point at 19:00-20:30.
