Senior guide
Dachnye springs are outlets of hot mineral waters at the foot of Mutnovsky volcano. They are hidden from prying eyes in a small bowl-shaped stream valley. Here the underground heat of the volcano bursts outwards in columns of steam, boils water and mud pots, and in some places it fountains.

Trip to Dachnye springs in Kamchatka
-
Part 1
Driving towards Vilyuchinsky pass
We will meet you in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky around 8 am and drive towards Mutnovsky volcano. Depending on the size of the group, we will prepare a passable car or a shift bus with a soft interior for the trip. The journey takes about 3-4 hours. Part of the route is off-road - as local drivers say: ‘In Kamchatka there are no roads at all, only directions’. We will stop several times to see the scenery: birch and coniferous forests, a mountain river, and the tops of volcanoes.
The route to the Dachnye springs leads through a kilometre-high pass. Wild alpine plants bloom on its slopes, and there is a viewing point at the top. It offers an excellent view of the slender cone of the neighbouring Vilyuchinsky volcano and the whole green valley. In good weather one can also see 7 other peaks here.

Part 2
Trekking to the Dachnye springs
At the foot of Mutnovsky volcano we will stop not far from the geothermal power station and give a briefing. The trip to the springs is short and uncomplicated, but it is still necessary to follow safety rules in areas with geothermal activity. Besides, bears may come across on the way in this area - you should not be afraid of these meetings, but it is better to be ready for them and listen to the guide. The walk to the springs takes about an hour on average. We will walk through colourful landscapes with green bushes, rocks and white spots of snow.
The Little Valley of Geysers is a warm, rocky area surrounded by huge driftwood. You will see mud pots, fountains and smoking fumaroles. We will give you a excursion and tell you how exactly volcanic processes take place here.
After visiting the Dachnye springs we will return by the same route to the transport and head back to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. We will arrive in the city at the meeting point around 20.00.
