  • Day 1

    Fishing at Starichkov Island. Passage to Russkaya Bay

    The tour will start with a transfer from the airport or your hotel to the sea pier. There the captain will meet us, take us aboard the yacht and guide it towards the ocean across the Avacha Bay. On the way we will get a view of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and volcanoes, and closer to the sea gate the yacht will pass near the Three Brothers rocks sticking vertically out of the water.

    After leaving the bay into the ocean, we turn south to Starichkov Island. Here, on an area of only half a kilometre, thousands of seabirds nest: tupiks, cormorants, cuirasses, coyotes, seagulls, gulls and rare Steller's sea eagles. You can't land on it - it's a natural monument, but you can get quite close to the island by boat and observe bird markets. Here we will also hand out fishing rods, hold a masterclass on sea fishing and, if necessary, help beginners.

    Throughout the tour, we may encounter whales and orca families in Pacific waters. They come here for the fish, which are more plentiful off the coast in summer. Sometimes these animals even swim after the ships, entertaining with fountains and somersaults out of the water.

    After fishing, we can stop at Cape Dangerous if we wish. Until recently, there was an especially large number of monotremes here, spawning on the underwater ridge running from the cape. Now the population of this fish has decreased, but other species, such as perch and cod, are biting well.

    After fishing the yacht will head further south, to Russkaya Bay, one of the most beautiful bays in Kamchatka. It is a narrow kilometre-long bay with steep green shores reminiscent of Norwegian fjords. The bay is isolated and quiet, so for centuries it serves as a shelter for sailors during bad weather. It is also famous for its pure water with silver ions, which comes from mountain springs.

    In Russkaya Bay we will fish and stay overnight. You can stay in a cabin or camp on the shore.

  • Day 2

    Fishing in Listvenichnaya Bay and the river that flows into it. Salmon fishing

    On this day we plan to take a boat trip up the Listvenichnaya River, which flows into the bay of the same name. In summer, salmon spawn here, and bears also come to the water for fish.

    In Larchivnichnaya Bay near the mouth of the river we will transfer to boats and start to follow the river. On the way we will reach a small picturesque lake, also called Larchivnichnoe Lake, half a kilometre from the shore. Here you can get away from the ocean landscape, admire the mountains and wild forests. We'll probably be able to watch bear fishing from a safe distance - during this season the animals often come to the river. But boating on the Listvenichnaya River is a special attraction: there are rolls and holes on the river. It is safe, although it will excite beginners.

    We will stop for fishing in a place convenient for fishing and start salmon fishing. There are many different species of salmon in these waters: nerka, silver salmon, pink salmon, chum salmon and the queen of Kamchatka salmon - chinook salmon. The cook will roast the fresh catch on the fire and teach how to make caviar-five minutes.

    After fishing we will go back to the yacht and return to the familiar Russkaya Bay. Here in the afternoon we can go out for a walk to the cascading waterfalls on the Bystroy River, which flows into the northern part of the bay.

  • Day 3

    Cape Kekurny. Watching sea lions. Catching blue perch

    In the morning we will go by yacht to Kekurny cape. It is not far away, between Russkaya and Listvenichnaya bays. The cape is famous for rookeries of sea lions. These are the largest long-eared seals, very curious animals that are not afraid of people unlike many of their relatives. We will approach them by boat and take a closer look. Steller's sea lions rest on the rocks in families: you can see the main male seal, females and small cubs. In order not to scare them away, it is better to behave quietly. Then these animals, out of curiosity, swim up to people and make circles around the boats.

    The best way to observe Steller sea lions is underwater - in their element they become graceful and quickly make contact. For close acquaintance with them we have wetsuits ready and an experienced instructor who will help you to act and communicate with the animals correctly. Swimming with sea lions usually leaves a strong impression on participants, so we always advise you to take advantage of this opportunity.

    rom Kekurny cape the yacht will go to the place where blue perch bite well. Fishing is always especially active here. At the end of the day we will return to Russkaya Bay and stay overnight.

  • Day 4

    Fishing and sightseeing programme of your choice

    Where we will go that day and what we will do is up to you. We have several options:

    • Continue salmon fishing on the Listvenichnaya River and the lake of the same name;
    • Dedicate a day to finding and catching huge halibut;
    • Kayaking on the Tikhaya Bay. There are beautiful landscapes with waterfalls and clear water;
    • Spend a day in Vilyuchinskaya Bay at the foot of the volcano of the same name: watch the sea otters and largha whales, walk to the Green Cape, which offers a panoramic view of the volcano and the ocean.

    All options for this day end with a return to Russkaya Bay.

  • Day 5

    Deep sea fishing. Catching northern sea bass and halibut. Return to the port

    On this day we will teach you how to pull benthic fish out of 100 metre depths. The boat will approach areas of slack - sloughs and deep water banks. These are home to stingray, halibut, macrus and bright red coloured northern sea bass.

    After that the vessel will move to Lighthouse Cape, where we will continue halibut fishing. This is a large flat fish with an average length of about a metre. But it can grow to gigantic sizes: the record recorded length is 470 cm. In addition to halibut, flounder and pollock can be caught here.

    Lighthouse Cape is located on the border of Avacha Bay. An ancient lighthouse of the 19th century still operates on its top. Together Lighthouse Cape and the neighbouring Bezymyanny Cape form the sea gate of the bay and protect it from storms. As we pass between them, you will see the familiar Three Brothers rocks. The yacht will come closer so you can look at them again and take photos.

    On your return to Petropavlovsk port, we will change into a car and bring you to your hotel or airport.
