Winter and spring Kamchatka tour

Day 1 - meeting and accommodation

Have spending 8 hours in the aircraft, you realize, that even most amazing things will be eclipsed by tiredness.

But! Be sure that Kamchatka is a big exception! On approaching to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, when you look at window, you will freeze with only one thought in your head - It is awesome! These are real volcanoes!. Inaccessible beautiful mountain ranges all over eastern coast of Kamchatka will be visible for you.

Our guide, keeping a sing "KamchatkaLand", will meet you after getting luggage, and take you to recreation base, where you will be able to enjoy relaxing swimming pool and the whole evening for strength restoration before following adventure.

Day 2 - snowmobile excursion to the shore of he Pacific ocean

Today we are going to the Pacific ocean shore. It doesn`t freeze in winter, but coastal line usually is snow and ice-bound. It`s almost impossible to get to the shore by car in this time, so we go by automobile as far as possible, then change it to snowmobile sledge. Guide will take us to very shore.

The Pacific ocean shore is in front of us. It doesn`t matter if it`s winter or summer, you always feel an energy of expanse. We hope that you will feel the power of the ocean as well. Sometimes, in frosty sunny days you can see reckless guys surfing. It`s fantastic! And great self overcome.

Go further to Petropavlovsky lighthouse. It`s located in the north-east side of the bay, on Mayachny cape. Unfortunately it`s impossible t get to the very lighthouse, as it still works and guarded. But we can enjoy wonderful view of steep rocks next to shore and the very lighthouse. Avacha bay and Three Brothers rocks are visible from Mayachny cape. Going back to recreation base.

Day 3 - meeting Kamchatka`s natives in winter and spring

Today, far away from city rush, we will be welcome by Koryak people warmth and herbal tea in cosy place - "North Children" village. It`s a picturesque place, where tasteful view of domestic volcanoes unfold. Here, in ethnic nomad camp we will meet residents of these places - aboriginals of Kamchatka, who tell their history, way of live and traditions by means of dances. This nomad camp is also famous for nursery. There are bear cubs, Kamchatka sledge dogs in these nursery. The bravest ones can ride a horse. Warmth and history of these places make a pleasant impression on you.

Next point of this day is one of the most famous Kamchatka occupation - dog sledging. Annually dog sledge race "Beringiya" is held in march. Not only Russians, but foreigners take part in it. This kind of transportation has been using in Russian north for many centuries. Today you will play a role of dogs` driver, who`s called "Kayur". Dog sledging is an embodiment of harmony between human being and dog, their understanding in its pure sense, trust.

Experienced kayurs will tell us about dogs` pedigrees, its age, upkeep, riding qualities and special role in harness. Have meeting and making friends with dogs you will drive! We are care about you safety, so we have gone this route beforehand and made a path. You will be accompanied by snowmobiles all the way. You will enjoy view of passing by volcanoes and revive yourself! Cheered up, we say goodbye to dogs and return to base, where delicious supper and relaxing atmosphere are waiting for us.

Day 4 - A snowmobile tour to Avachinsky volcano.

Kamchatka is a land of majestic and glorious volcanoes! This day we can visit one of these volcanoes - Avachinsky volcano and we actually make a small ascent of the Camel mountain.

Snowmobile will take our group to the Avachinsky pass through the rolled ski track and Sukhaya river covered with snow. We are surrounded by Domashny (domestic) volcanoes and spend the whole day to take a look around and admire breathtaking views of panorama from the height.

We are sure you can get a charge of positive emotions thanks to pure chilly air and untouched snow cover. A snow off-road is in your hands for almost a full day and while you are taking a stroll around the snow valley, you have possibility to see stunning panoramas of these places! Don`t forget to snap of it! We are sure you want to revive this moment many times!

Have ridden long enough, we go back to the resort zone where outdoor swimming pool is waiting for us yet again.

Day 5. A jeep tour to the Gorely volcano, Opasny canyon and Dachny hot springs (the Small Valley of Geysers)

Today we will drive you to the crater of the active volcano and show you the 80-meter high waterfall and the Small Valley of Geysers. We will ride in the warm jeeps. On these cars we will reach the place as much as closer and reduce time for a walk.

In the morning, we will pick you up from the recreation center and drive you to the south instead of the north, as it was before. This is the area of high volcanic activity. We will ride through the Paratunka forests. Less than an hour, we will reach the mountain pass by the jeeps. From the kilometer-long mountain pass opens up a wonderful view of the valley and the Vilyuchinsky volcano. You can see the volcano from the city, but here you can take a good look at its well-composed cone.

We will drive about 20 kilometers to reach our main goal – the Gorely volcano. This is an active volcano with a complicated structure: it’s enough to say that the volcano has 11 craters. We will show you three of the most famous and picturesque craters. Along the slopes we will be able to drive as close to the craters as possible. There will be left 100-150 meters to walk, and finally, we will be at the edge of the first crater. This is a deep hollow with depth of 200 meters. There is an acid lake hided by snow on the bottom. Fumaroles hiss in the neighboring small craters. The volcano throws out steaming and gas clouds through them. We will have time to walk along the edge of the craters and look into them, and enjoy snow views around.

After a trip to the Gorely volcano, we will head to the Opasny waterfall. It is located on the slope of the neighboring Mutnovsky volcano. The ride takes about 30-40 minutes. There are the acid streams of the Mutnaya river falling from the height of 80 meters into the deep gorge. It’s nearly impossible to see its bottom, because, firstly, it’s covered by snow and secondly, it isn’t so easy to go close the edge of the canyon because of possible landslip.

The final point of our trip is Dachnye hot springs. This place has another name as the Small Valley of Geysers. This is a warm area of the mountain valley that stands out as a living place against background of white snows. The ground fully manifests its activity in the Dachnye hot springs. Fumorole steams, hot water splashes and mud pot boils here. We will guide you along the safest route and show you all the most interesting.

At the end of the eventful day we will return to the hotel in Paratunka village and restore our strengths in thermal pools.

Day 6 - Historical city sightseeing tour including visit to the fish market and interactive museum "Volcanarium"

Port city, fishermen and sailors city - Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Today we are going around the city and try to understand what it is famous for. We will tell you about previous and current city life style, show you panoramic view of Avacha Bay and monuments of great navigators.

After listening to the story about history of the city and visiting major monuments of the city we visit a new interactive volcano museum of "Volcanarium". This project is founded by Sergey Samoylenko, well-known volcanologist in Kamchatka. You can know about the processes which occur under the Earth there. The exposition includes a lot of exhibits such as simulated lava flows and eruptions which you can touch.

Reached Mokhovaya bay, we check if its residents - sea lions - are on place. Usually, they spend here a part of long Kamchatka’s winter. Local fishermen are friends with them and feed them sometimes. We stimulated your appetite not in vain, we are going straight to fish market!!!Here you will find everything, that makes this region so famous: salmon red caviar, king salmon and humpback salmon, Kamchatka`s crab, famous smelt, Pacific sea buss, Kamchatka`s halibut.

We advice you to taste everything! Each land has its own souvenirs, which reflect its uniqueness, traditions. Kamchatka has such things as well. We will show you souvenirs shops, where you will be able to find something that will reflect your vision of Kamchatka.

History of Kamchatka`s developing is so rich, that it`s impossible to tell everything in one day. We tell you main points of it and we hope that you will have some pleasant impression about this city and this land. By evening we go back to rest base.

Day 7 - seeing-off

Here our adventure ends. Today we take you to the airport. With a light sadness, but pleasant feeling inside we tell you goodbye and see you here, in Kamchatka!
