What helicopter tour to Lake Kuril is?
If Kamchatka peninsula is a real bear`s paradise, then Lake Kuril is its capital. You meet bears there without any doubts. From July to September is a good time to watch bears and their feast. More than two hundred bears come to the area of Lake Kuril to have some salmons spawning from the Sea of Okhotsk.
After arrival at the helicopter pad the first part of the helicopter tour program starts: a ride over a whole Kamchatka to the South – to the Ozerny cordon located at the shore of Lake Kuril. You spot all wonders of landscape: volcanoes, mountain ranges and plain cut by a lot of rivers.
Accompanied by the inspector and guide we go to the scientific station located at the mouth of the Ozerny river where fish migration is monitored. This place is the only way connecting the lake and the Pacific Ocean so fish must swim there anyway. Of course, bears also don’t miss this place so they hold a real fishing contest there. We find a place at the observation desk located at the center of the blocking-bridge stretched from one bank to another one from where we may listen to guide’s stories and watch wild animals which are just few meters from us.
The next step is a flight ride to the crater of Ksudach volcano. When flying we see that the crater is filled by two lakes: Shtubelya and Kluchevoe. The water is very hot! It is heated by the center of the Earth. After landing we go around the black sand beach of Kluchevoey lake. If you keen on photo shooting you need to bring wide-angle camera lens with you it will be very useful for you.
Khodutka thermal waters
The final step of our program is soaking in thermal waters located at the foot of Khodutka volcano where we have another flight stop. These waters are heated to 40 degrees Celsius by volcanic activities of the Earth and enriched with different microelements washed from Earth interior. Don’t forget to take swimsuits with you!
